Warrington Borough Ministry
Telephone: 01925 246900 (Office)
Arriving in Warrington town centre in 1992 to minister at Bold Street Mission and work ecumenically, the 1993 IRA bomb – and reconciliation work aftermath – led to much faith-related involvement with both the community and statutory sector, exploring and creating events of spiritual reflection for those with little religious connection.
In 2004, because of relationships built and opportunities offered, the Circuit created Warrington Borough Ministry, a new role, without congregational responsibility. WBM is able to build a faith contribution into strategic planning with representation (respected ecumenically & by those of other faiths) at neighbourhood, borough and regional levels. WBM works across a wide range of disciplines, including the media, economic, health, community safety, homelessness, education and retail sectors – a faith reference point, representative and resource.
WBM serves on the board of Warrington Partnership, chairs the Town Centre Management Board, Council of Faiths, and fulfils a range of informal chaplaincies.
